Not the Favorites

We met Tresa at Chicago Grill yesterday after work for dinner. She had her OB appointment and walked down to the restaurant to wait for us. Ollie and I got there about 4:30. He was happy to see his momma and immediately started sipping her pop. He stood on the bench, reached across the table and started sucking on the straw like he was dehydrated. We ordered dinner and waited for Dale and Annie to show up.

They showed up and we were relegated to second class citizens. Ollie didn't want to sit with us, he had to sit in a high chair with them at their table. He ate his hotdog and fries and entertained them by repeating their words. They had him say the cats names, fork, hot dog and other words for their amusement. He laughed right along when they laughed. He kicked Dale several times underneath the table because he was so excited.

It was time to go and Ollie didn't want to leave his Aunt and Uncle. He cried to be with them instead of us. When that happens it makes a parent feel really loved! Dale had to put him in the car because he was throwing such a fit. He calmed down on the ride home and we were somewhat liked again. I should get used to this, everyone who disciplines you is less popular than people who don't. That's the way it is supposed to be.
