Not Sick

Ollie's fever didn't return yesterday, so we are calling him healthy for now. He definitely showed he wasn't sick when his eating and playing increased 10 fold last night. As usual, he fought going to bed, but was happy this morning. Until we left for work. He didn't get what he wanted, so he threw a fit. After he was distracted, the rest of the trip to the sitter's was uneventful.

Sick?

Ollie may be sick, but we aren't sure. He had a fever yesterday and one this morning. It may be his last set of molars, but we aren't sure. We can't get a look in his mouth! He spent the entire weekend watching the same Thomas the Train video. Lucky for us, we have a separate DVD player in our room so he can watch it in there. Unlucky for our carpet as he spills his food on it. We will be getting a rug for it soon.

This morning he woke up with a slight fever, but didn't seem to be feeling bad. Hopefully that will be all he gets and be done with it, but it isn't likely.

Tantrums Be Gone

Ollie has become such a nice boy as of late. It seems the tantrums have become fewer recently. Granted he still has them, but it seems like they are less.

He is becoming more like a little kid and less like a toddler. While he has a healthy appetite for Disney movies, he regularly makes up stories with the characters from the movies. He knows their names by heart and what movie the character appears. His stories even involve the setting and some similarities in what happens in the movies.

Since he's been watching Jungle Book a lot lately and we had a fire this last weekend, he has been requesting another fire. Jungle Book has a fire, we had a fire, so lets have another one! The roasting of marshmallows wasn't such a great success as his parents ate more than him. I guess it is because that's not part of a Disney movie!

Nice Brother

Ollie is generally nice to his sister. He likes to play with her on occasion, mostly he likes to play with what she has. He is doing better about sharing with her. He gives her toys to play with and doesn't steal them as often. He'll apologize if he accidentally hurts her most of the time and has even let her play with his toys.

He'll even play patti-cake with her on a rare occasion.

She thinks he's pretty funny, it seems she already likes her big brother.

Big Man

This weekend we went out to lunch with Travis, Diane and Tyler. Ollie behaved himself for the 2nd meal out in a row. He was so well behaved, I wasn't concentrating on him like I usually do for meals out. He ate his food, needed only a little help with the ketchup, but took care of himself and the meal the rest of the time.

He even put his coat on when he was ready to go. Way before the rest of us were ready. He was just trying to be helpful. While we were making Tyler a stuffed Tiger, Ollie got one too. He got him a construction out fit and now the tiger is Bob the Builder! He couldn't wait to 'wash' him in their machine, but kept putting it in the wrong end. Once he was boxed up, Ollie had to carry him. The only time he let him go was when Ollie's hands got too cold from the wind. So far this is the only stuffed animal that he hasn't undressed yet, but I'm sure Bob's defrocking is coming soon. With the extra people in the house, Ollie was well behaved (for the most part) for the entire weekend. Now if only we could get him potty trained.

Monkeys

3 little monkeys jumping on the bed, 1 fell of and cracked his head. Momma called the doctor and the doctor said,

Ollie:"No More monkeys Jumping on the Bed!"

This song and Ollie's response goes along with his new jumping habit.

We have to grab his hand while he jumps on the couch or the bed. Most of the time, he'll say his line, but sometimes he gets tired of it and requests we don't sing the song. He just wants to jump and he jumps until one of us tires out.

I added a flickr stream for Ollie's photo's just like I have of Tori's to the right. You can click on the individual pictures or view them all as a slide show.

Mess Maker

Since Ollie's sister got a post about being messy, I thought I'd duplicate the effort, except with proof of Ollie's mess making.

Super Monster or Dragon?

Super Monster has wreaked havoc upon our humble abode. He awakens weekend mornings from his slumber growling and claws clenched. His wide, awkward stride slows his progress to his prey. His menacing snarling strikes fear into the local population who cry out "please super monster, don't get us!". The animals hide in fear of Super Monster until he sticks his claws too close to their mouths. After he's done terrorizing the country side, he settles down for a snack and cartoons. Nothing appeases Super Monster more than wacky hi-jinks portrayed by animated characters.

We also have a dangerous Dragon living with us. He looks similar to Super Monster, the only difference is he announce himself.

"I am a dragon! Raaaaar!", he snarls.

After the Dragon is assured that he is scary, he retreats to a more relaxed state until he feels we aren't scared anymore. Then he returns in full force!

See there are unexplained things still in this world, you just have to look in your own house for them!

What a Difference

I uploaded the first photo by accident, but it makes a good comparison to today. I think it is from 9 months ago.

All 3

It is rare that I get all 3 of them to look at the camera at the same time. Ollie is usually shy and Tori doesn't know what is happening, so she's usually looking at something else. Luckily I was able to get this picture.

Cheese!

Fine, you can take a picture, but I'm not smiling correctly!

Can't See Me

He Can't Seem to Get Away from the Camera!

While taking a nap yesterday at the sitter's, the sitter, Ollie and another kid closed their eyes for their nap. Just before the sitter was going to get up because she thought they were asleep, she hears a little voice say

"Ok, Nathan Sharon is asleep, now we can get up and play!"

He was surprised when Sharon opened her eyes and he started laughing. That boy is going to be a little trouble devil.

Running Shy

Maybe Running Away Will Work Better!

Now if only he'd stop waking up in the middle of the night (12 AM and 4 AM last night) asking to watch movies!
