As our last Christmas was had, Ollie had easily tripled his present total to somewhere around 30 presents. Ollie's Grandma Vickie came in to town with toys for the little boy. Ollie opened them up, we took them out of the boxes and put them together and Ollie played with them all. Just like the other Christmas' Ollie was distracted by each new toy that he opened. He like them all.
Saturday his cold became worse. His 2 year molars made the situation worse for his sinuses. He woke up from his nap with his right eye matted in snot. Both eyes had mucus drainage for the rest of the day. Ollie was also very clingy due to the molars coming in and being a pain in the mouth. He wanted us to carry him every where. Needless to say, he wasn't happy when we set him down to do things with 2 hands. He threw fits most of the afternoon because of not being carried. He's a heavy boy. If you need a workout, just carry a 30 lb. toddler around all day, great for arms, not so great for your back.
We setup the vaporizer on Saturday night and his face appeared much better Sunday morning. We thought he might have pinkeye when he got up on Saturday, but any redness around the eye was gone Sunday morning. He did have a little bit of mucus around his eyes, but not much. However, he was worse on the clingy scale on Sunday. Nothing would make him happy other than being held all day. He ate a good Chinese lunch (Chinese buffet, he had macaroni and other American dishes) and took a nap when we got home. He awoke with Mr. Clingy in tow. Then he proceeded to throw fits all night because we wouldn't carry him around the house. He also was grabbing his butt and obviously in pain. Constipation! He had eaten cheese a couple of times over the weekend and now he was paying for it. We tricked him into drinking juice, but nothing yet. Eventually, he wore himself out from all the fit throwing and was in bed by 8:30.
Our night was just beginning. He awoke around midnight because his teeth were hurting. He got more medicine and we attempted let him sleep with us. He didn't want to lay back down, so I tried to put him on my chest. Instead, Ollie kept pinching my skin like it would come off of me! After failing to get him to lay down I took him back to his room and tried to get him to fall asleep on my shoulder. As soon as I tried to move him off my shoulder, he screamed. So, he cried himself back to sleep in about 15 minutes. This morning he was tired (we all were) and he was still fairly clingy. His cold looks to have gotten better and he off at the sitters. Hopefully, the other kids will distract him from being clingy so the sitter won't have to carry him all day.

Mr. Clingy
There is always a point in the evening when your child has been the most rotten of the lot, but they are sick, in pain and tired. They just sit in your arms and want you to take care of them and they are content for awhile. Moments like those, make the rest all worth it.
