Molar 1 is through on the bottom, molar 2 was on its way out before Ollie's bedtime last night. We prepared thoroughly, we gave him medicine and hoped for the best. The best didn't come, but a tooth did.
He awoke around 1:30 with a holler and a wail. We tried calming him with the usual tactics, but the dice kept coming up craps. We put him in bed with us for a few minutes and he calmed down. In my fuzzy state of alertness, I couldn't add 8 + 6 to get 2 am (8 pm and 6 hrs wait for another dose), so I said he couldn't have medicine. After being corrected, it processed correctly through the haze in my brain and Ollie received more pain medicine. He went back to bed with a holler and a wail, but settled down for a long winters nap, or so we thought.
An hour later, he awoke with a shriek. Calming techniques and our bed did nothing this time around, so back to his own bed he went. The hollering, wailing and shrieking of 1000 toddlers not wanting to go to bed ensued. He woke up others in the house and ensured his parents were bright and cheery in the morning. Sleep ensued for him in about 10 minutes for the rest of the night. His parents watched the clock pass the time, we could've followed his lead and yelled ourselves to sleep. That wouldn't have gone well with everyone in the house and probably would've started Ollie's cycle all over again. I fell asleep at some point, but I think Tori kept her Mama up much longer.
