We had everything setup for Ollie to get his 2 year picture taken at a new photography studio that opened. He had his hair cut on Saturday and didn't look much like a peacock anymore, so he was ready to go. Before we got there, we started with the wardrobe issue. Would it be Tigger or Mickey on his shirt. After much debate Ollie chose Mickey. Ollie 'told' us that he wanted to wear the Mickey clothes by getting extremely excited when we showed it to him. He also had a fit when we tried to get the Tigger clothes on him, so it was easy to tell what he wanted.
We got to the studio 20 minutes early and it took Ollie about 20 minutes to warm up to playing with the lego's. We have lego's at home, so he was definitely feeling scared/shy with being there. It came time for Ollie's picture to be taken, or so we thought. They pulled the back screen down for him, but he wasn't budging out of our arms. We could get him to touch his feet to the ground while we were holding him, but that was as far as he would go.
We moved him to the background where they would take the pictures and tried to get him detached from us enough for them to take a picture. It happened, but not long enough for them to get a picture. He stood there with stuffed dogs at his feet, but with his head down. His mama cleared out of the way, but I was within walking distance for him and he made a beeline for me. We then tried to sit him on my lap for head shots. Apparently, there was velcro between my body and his head, because it was difficult to get his head off my chest for a picture. After 20 minutes of trying to get him to situp and smile, we gave up. We went home empty handed after they were only able to get a few attempted photos. Ollie's velcro wasn't wearing off any time soon, so it looks like we won't be getting a 2 year picture of Ollie. Snapshots will have to do for the time being.
