Ollie's first 'swimming' class was last night. It was more of a 'get in the water and walk around the pool with a baby' class. It was a bit more than that, but it was a start. Ollie whimpered and cried for about the first 15 minutes of the class. He then started playing with the lane dividers in the pool and calmed down. The instructor brought over a ring and they played the give and take game. Ollie was in up to his shoulders almost to get the ring underneath the water. He then learned to splash with the ring and kick in the water. He let me turn him around and not face him and kicked away. The only thing he didn't like about the whole experience was being in the locker room. For some reason, when I set him down he started crying. So, he got changed in the pool area. Overall, I think he enjoyed it and will enjoy Thursday's class more.
His fear of the tub subsided last night. He didn't scream, he still played with the drain plug and emptied his bath to soon. We hope the screamfest's are over.
