4 A.M.

Ollie: "Dad"
Me still asleep
Ollie: "Dad!"
Me still asleep
Ollie: "Dad!!"
Ollie pushes my nose with his finger.
Me: "What?, Do you want up here?"
Ollie whispers something.
Me: "What?"
Ollie: "i'm done with my nap Dad."
Me: "Its still dark out, its not time to get up!"
Ollie runs back to his room and climbs into bed without question as I follow him in to make sure he is tucked in.

He awoke after 6 A.M. fairly crabby. Guess he wasn't done with his nap then either.

Goofy

On our way to pick up his Mama at the hairdresser's, I had Incubus on the stereo in the car. Ollie said he like the music and was going to dance with his hands. He thrust his hands in the air and waved them back and forth. Then he said he was going to dance in his car seat. He leaned left and right as quickly as he could to dance.

We've seen a lot of his goofiness lately. It has started to come more as he's gotten older. He is constantly making up stories about everything. What we are doing for the day, where we are going and throws in the 3 little pigs and wolf. He is also a red dragon who must have his red dragon song (5 red dragons instead of little monkeys) when he is jumping on his bed. I hope he never loses that creativity.

To Eep Pe Na

"To Eep Pe Na!", Ollie yells.

"To Eep Pe Na!", we repeat.

"No, you don't say To Eep Pe Na!", Ollie admonishes.

"To Infinity and Beyond!", we'll say

"No, you don't say To Eep Pe Na!", Ollie says again!

Buzz Lightyear and Toy Story are Ollie's favorite toys/movies. He carries his toy Buzz around with him all the time. He especially doesn't like to share Buzz with Tori. He is usually good about sharing toys, but not about sharing Buzz. Of course, Tori plays with it anyways. When she is able to talk, we'll have a chorus of "To Eep Pe Na!". The movie is 10 years old and we have a child addicted to Toy Story. I'm just glad they still have the toys around. Especially since Jessie's head popped off the other night. That was Tori's favorite too.

Easter and Getting Older

Easter egg dying wasn't quite the event this year that it was last year. The only real resemblance was Ollie dying the same eggs over and over. He didn't throw them in like he did last year. Though they both seemed to produce the same amount of mess.

He seemed to enjoy all his Easter presents. A talking workbench, Looney Tunes movies, a rope (string), the candy and the confetti eggs. He played with them all and watched both movies. He seemed to enjoy them. He looked for the eggs, but some seemed to be misplaced by the cats. He found them all, but he didn't seem real sure why we were doing it. In time.

Speaking of time, Ollie is growing up more. He rarely uses a sippee cup and is using his utensils instead of his hands. The main thing is that he is now climbing on chairs to get on the counter top to get his own snacks. This is nice if we are busy, but it can cause a problem if he chooses the wrong stool. It also ruins us trying to train him into eating regular dinner food. He can just get his own snack later. All in time I'm sure

Clothing Wars Episode II

A day ago and not very far away, after agreeing to wear his short sleeved dinosaur shirt yesterday and his spring jacket, we only had the shorts to conquer. This came to a head last night when it was time for his pajamas. He wanted to wear his Stitch pajamas, which have shorts. I got them on him and the wailing began. I thought he was fine with them, so we went downstairs. I was wrong. He wanted changed into long pants, so he got different pajamas and all was well.

This morning he was ok with wearing a short sleeved shirt, it just had to be the dinosaur shirt he wore yesterday. It was dirty, so he got a fire engine shirt instead. After a few minutes he relented (I forced it on him and he couldn't get it off), so he was happy with his shirt. The jacket wasn't a problem at all this morning and he seems to like the hood that goes with it. He used to hate hoods. Sometimes I wonder if he still wishes he was a baby, like his sister.

He definitely knows he's a big boy and will tell us all the time. He just isn't a big boy who knows how to use the potty just yet.

Hidden Things

Ollie doesn't like change much. This is evident when it comes to his shoes and his coat. He doesn't want them to change no matter how much he has out grown them. Unbeknownst to him, the last pair of shoes was the exact same style of shoe, just in a larger size. So, it was a sad day when we went to buy him new shoes this weekend and they didn't have the same style in a larger size. After a few squabbles and a cry for Elmo slippers (which he got also), he settled on a pair of shoes with orange trim.

When it came time to put on his new shoes this morning, it was a kick and cry fest. I put them on while he was crying for his old shoes and kicking his legs to prevent me from putting his new shoes on. Once on his feet, he tried taking them off. He succeeded a few times before leaving them on his feet. Once at the babysitters, off they came. He insisted on wearing a sweat shirt today. Since he wore that he didn't have to wear a jacket. That'll be tomorrow's battle as his old jacket has disappeared as well.

The rest of the weekend, Ollie spent outside for the most part. He even took a walk and actually walked part of it. He was jumping over the lines in the sidewalk when he tripped on his old shoes and went down hard on the concrete. He scraped his hands a little bit, but he was ok other than that. He rode in the stroller for the rest of the walk. He also went down for his naps rather easily and didn't fuss about them much. I hope that trend remains.

Lastly, I yelled at him for spilling his drink on the stairs after he started crying about it. I was wrong and shouldn't have done it and I apologize to him. I doubt he'll remember it and I will probably forget it, but I wanted him to have this to read in the future. We are very lucky to have a healthy child, let alone one that is such a good kid.

He Likes Bologna

Ollie has become a sandwich eater lately. At least he'll eat part of a sandwich. Since he is a big boy, he insists on 2 pieces of bread. The favorite bread topping of late has been bologna, but he'll also have a peanut butter and jelly sandwich on occasion. He even ate a hot hot dog on its bun the other night. He'll still eat the occasional cold piece of bologna or hot dog by themselves, but he seems to be switching to more sandwich oriented servings.

There are some things he hasn't given up yet. One of them is licking the butter off of bread instead of biting it. I'm just glad we don't use sticks of butter. He might end up eating them whole like I did as a kid. Yuck!

Can You See Me?

How About Now?

That's Better, Just Don't Clean Me Up!

His cold has caused him a few problems, camera shyness isn't one of them. His nose is so raw that it has scabbed over will bleed occasionally. I wish it would heal quickly, then he wouldn't be such a pain when he gets his face wiped.

Outside!

Ollie was able to get outside for a bit this weekend. He helped his Mama dig out the back yard on Saturday afternoon, but found no snakes. He then got to go outside on Sunday before the bad weather started. He went out in the afternoon with his sister and played with everything. He then got his bath.

After that he got his jammies on and helped his dad make dinner on the grill. He put his shoes on over his jammies and we played outside while the chicken cooked. He is ready to be outside, I think being cooped up all winter finally got to him.
